About Me

My photo
This blog is an amateur photographer's attempt to show how beautiful the world really is. He is drawn to the colors of nature like a moth to a candle light. What are showcased here are nature's grand display of colors at sunrise and sunset, beautiful beaches and off-the-beaten track locations in his beloved Philippines, waterfalls and some of nature's great sculptures, architectural gems, and other views from around SE Asia that he was fortunate to see at one point.

nagsasa cove: a tranquil beauty

Nagsasa Cove: a preview for 2014

This is my first trip to Nagsasa for 2014. Nagsasa has not fully donned its summer dress, the air still has some chill left in it. By mid afternoon, a thin haze covered part of the cove. Was it fog? I'm not sure, but it was quite a mood.

Just like before, I prefer this side of the cove, usually left alone by most campers who prefer better "amenities", and partly thanks to the boatmen who usually tell their clients that area is "privately owned", or has no running water and toilet, etc. [They get a cut of the campsite fee for every client they bring to the other camps] Thank you indeed, for we were the only ones this side of the cove that weekend.

But the "privately owned" bit may soon be a reality. Mang Ador, who owned the rights to this parcel of land, lost his battle with the big C September of last year. The rights to his campsite transferred hands, presumably to cover his hospital bills. The new owner has kept the status quo unchanged, for now. I hope Mang Ador's vision for Nagsasa [to keep it as pristine as possible] will live on.
