I love shooting solitary mangroves. For me they are like the sentinels of the sea, sturdy and enduring.
So one morning, a couple of my friends and I drove to a coastal town an hour or so from my hometown, with a perfect location in mind. We left at 3am, with pre-visualized shots and high hopes for glorious colors. We hoped for a perfect sunrise.
Nature like to throw curve balls for it started to rain when we arrived at the location. But instead of calling the sunrise shoot off, we just took what was given. The word "perfect" is relative. Though there were no explosive sunrise colors, it was a perfectly gloomy morning; perfect for taking these monochromatic long exposure shoots. It turned out to be perfect sunrise after all :)

Lovely solitary mangrove. It must be lonely being alone in the vast sea. I hope some people would consider adding more mangroves to make this lone mangrove happy.
Sheng, does the local government there have a mangrove reforestation program?
